Summer Sangria, 3 Ways

Hot summer days call for sweet, crisp fruits soaked in wine. We’ve put together three no-fail sangria recipes to satisfy every sangria craving. Try “The Classic Sangria” for a restaurant-quality experience, “Very Berry Sangria” for a fruity, indulgent sipper, or “Sunrise Sangria” for a light, restorative refresher.

The Classic Sangria - Make with 2017 Central Coast Pinot Noir


Servings: 6
Total Time: 10 minutes
 
Ingredients:
1 bottle Pinot Noir
1 cup orange juice
½ cup brandy
3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 ½ cup watermelon, cubed
1 apple, sliced
 
Directions:

  1. In a large pitcher, stir together the Pinot Noir, orange juice, brandy, and sugar, until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add in the orange and lemon. Use a muddler to gently release the flavors from these fruits. Add in the apple and watermelon.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 – 24 hours. Serve over ice.

 

Very Berry Sangria – Make with 2017 Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon


Servings: 6
Total time: 10 minutes
 
Ingredients:
1 bottle Cabernet Sauvignon
2 Tablespoons orange liqueur
3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
2/3 cup brandy
¼ cup orange juice
2 oranges, sliced
1 ½ limes, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
½ lb strawberries, tops removed and halved
¼ lb blackberries
7.5 fl oz (1 small can) ginger ale

Directions:

  1. In a large pitcher, stir together the Cabernet Sauvignon, orange liqueur, brandy, orange juice and sugar, until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add in the oranges, limes, and lemon. Use a muddler to gently release the flavors from these fruits. Add in the strawberries and blackberries.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 – 24 hours. Serve over ice and top with a splash of ginger ale.

 

Sunrise Sangria – Make with Chenin Blanc + Viognier


Servings: 6
Total Time: 10 minutes
 
Ingredients:
1 bottle Chenin Blanc + Viognier
3 Tablespoons peach schnapps
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
½ cup brandy
2 oranges, sliced
2 limes, sliced
1 large mango, sliced
2 peaches, sliced
1 can seltzer water
 
Directions:

  1. In a large pitcher, stir together the Chenin Blanc + Viognier, peach schnapps, brandy, and sugar, until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add in the oranges and limes. Use a muddler to gently release the flavors from these fruits. Add in the mango and peaches.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 – 24 hours. Serve over ice and top with a splash of seltzer water.
